I'm sitting on my bed against the window sill as my shoulder blades rest on the curved cemented wall of my room. The 6:30 am breeze kisses the back of my neck, momentarily giving me the chills; until the next wave comes along to caress me. As I sit here and ponder over what I should write about in this blog post, the different sounds from the outside world comfort me. And that made me wonder, have you ever stopped to listen to the abundant music this universe has to offer to you? We lead such busy stressful lives each day with our internet and jobs and friends and food, but we rarely take the time to pause, reflect and enjoy the wonderful sounds of music from the birds and the bees and nature, of course.
From the crows cawing, sparrows chirping, koyal singing (beautifully might I add) and pigeons purring to the ruffling of the big palm tree's leaves, the screech of the broom against the dusty street, the chime of the cleaner's anklet in a rhythmic manner as she moves along, the young girls choir singing their morning prayers at the convent, the clatter of the dishes from the boy cleaning them in the hotel adjacent to my room, the whistle of the early morning pressure cooker in our neighbor's home, the increasing treble of the milkman's bicycle bell as it approaches our building, then gradually fading away into the misty morning air and the wonderful flutter of the numerous birds' wings - make my morning aurally pleasant.
So take a moment and enjoy the little things while you can :)
Happy Holi folks!
