Every morning, I find myself fighting against time, briskly walking or overpaying autos to get to the metro in time to catch the train. Apart from being flustered about the heat, I'm also annoyed with the auto drivers for having fleeced me in my moment of weakness. And then I reach the metro, scan my bags and go over to the ladies' divider section to be scanned by a young lady and her cool hand machine. Without thinking too much, I say 'good morning akka'. And then - emerges a bright smile, a shy blush and an unexpected response - "thank you, have a nice day too" in a strong kannadiga accent. She goes over to her friend sitting at the scanning counter, to tell her about what happened.
Having noticed this once, I tried it at different metro stations. On my way back in the evening from Indiranagar or at the Trinity metro station. All these beautiful ladies blush and wish me the same, sometimes a little shocked, and then slowly breaking into a smile saying good evening or good night.
And that makes me happy. It makes me feel content. Because, happiness is best enjoyed when shared :)
So, make someone happy today!
